The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) began its service in 1919 with the formation of a group of State Boiler Chiefs who had the single-minded goal of “One Code, One Inspector, One Stamp” for all boilers and pressure vessels. Over these 100 years, The National Board developed training and testing to ensure that ASME and NBIC Authorized Inspectors receive sufficient training, testing and experience to ensure the safe manufacture, inspection, testing and operation of these ASME-Stamped boilers and pressure vessels throughout the world.
Today, our services include registration and tracking of ASME Code boilers and pressure vessels, comprehensive training and testing to the latest ASME BPV and NBIC Codes, ASME/NB Joint Reviews, ASME/NB Accreditation tracking, as well as the testing and certification of Pressure Relief Devices (PRD’s) at our world class testing laboratory.
We are currently developing systems and software to track vessels from cradle to grave, including repairs and/or alterations for improved safety assurances.
