New Polyaspartic Esters (PAE)
Steel tank fabricators have always required good throughput and cost effectiveness from their coating systems. No fabricator wants to "wait for paint to dry" or limit their coating performance. Many coatings provide low volatile organic compounds & hazardous air pollutants, good corrosion resistance, high film build, and "good looks". But they are often achieved in multiple-coat systems.
Polyaspartics are a new class of amine-functional polymers that are reacted with polyisocyanates. Amine and isocyanates components can be found in existing epoxies and polyurethanes, and do not represent “new technology”. We are the first coating manufacturer to formulate this new polyaspartic technology into coatings that provide the adhesion and corrosion resistance of epoxies with the color and gloss retention of urethanes. Our NPT is the first line of coatings to provide fast dry, increased corrosion resistance, and improved exterior durability compared to standard epoxy / urethane coating systems. Our NPT is also less sensitive to humidity than standard epoxy / urethane coating systems, and is becoming the coating of choice for fast turn-around application whether applied in-shop or in the field. Our NPT can be applied in a one-coat system direct to metal (DTM) or over a primer. When applied over a zinc-rich primer, our NPT can exceed, in a two-coat system, the performance requirements many Owners expect from a three-coat zinc/epoxy/urethane coating system. This unique characteristic has been found by steel tank fabricators to save time and labor – money – and improve performance.
The two-inch 9095X series overfill prevention valve was designed utilizing out-of-the-box engineering. The valve has significant integrated adjustability and, in most cases, it can literally be installed right out of the box.
Overfill prevention valves are designed to prevent overfilling storage tanks by providing a positive shut-off during a pressurized fill. The 9095X valve installs in a tank top spill container or directly onto a tank top riser. It is offered with a direct quick disconnect adapter or remote pipe connection.
Tank owners value the lower installation costs and benefit from the reliability provided by overfill protection. The one-inch minimum high level set point allows storage tank owners to maximize their liquid capacity.
Tank producers and equipment distributors benefit from stocking one valve that can be easily adjusted for installation into a wide variety of storage tanks. The equipment installers value the time-saving, in-field float adjustability.
Inspectors, maintenance staff, and members of the regulatory community appreciate the optional test mechanism. Once installed, the valve test mechanism can be activated during the filling process to verify its operation.
